UMD Among Top 100 in Latest World Reputation Rankings

The University of Maryland was ranked one of the top 100 universities in the world for its teaching and research in a new annual survey. The rankings, by the Times Higher Education, reflect UMD’s academic prestige as top public research institution. 

UMD is one of 42 U.S. colleges and universities to make this year’s list, ranking in the 71-80 range. Only the top 50 institutions receive an individual ranking.

The 2017 World Reputation Rankings recognizes the most powerful global university brands based on the results of the world’s largest invitation-only opinion survey of senior, published academics. The University of Maryland is also ranked No. 19 among public universities and No. 25 for most innovative schools by U.S. News & World Report, as well as No. 14 among public universities by Forbes. The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine ranked UMD No. 9 overall for undergraduate entrepreneurship programs. And Kiplinger’s Personal Finance named UMD among the top best values in public colleges, ranking No. 8 nationally for in-state students.
