UMD and Lund University Announce Winners for Research Workshops
The University of Maryland (UMD) and Lund University (LU) in Sweden launched a new partnership to support scholars at both institutions to leverage research strengths, identify complementary areas of expertise, and explore potential collaborations that could lead to external funding.
The winners of the FY17 UMD-LU Joint Research Workshops are:
- Liana C. Sayer, Department of Sociology, UMD and Maria Stanfors, Center for Economic Demography/Economic History, LU
"The Gender and Care Responsibilities Over the Life Course" - David Fushman, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Center for Biomolecular Structure and Organization, UMD and Mikael Akke, Biophysical Chemistry, Center for Molecular Protein Science, LU
"Meeting 21st Century Challenges in Structural Biology and Biophysics" - Michael Cummings, Department of Biology, and Institute for Advanced Computer Studies, UMD and Karin Rengefors, Department of Biology, LU
"Genomics of Biological Collapses and Invasions" - Peter Potapov, Department of Geographical Sciences, UMD and Lars Eklundh, Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science, LU
"National -to-Continental Forest Change and Crop Extent Monitoring Using Satellite Data Mass-Processing and Big Data Analysis"
