Vishkin Offers Fresh Perspective on Commodity Computing in ACM Viewpoint

Uzi Vishkin, a professor of electrical and computer engineering with an appointment in UMIACS, just published a viewpoint paper and video in the April 2014 issue of Communications of the ACM (CACM).

Vishkin’s presentation offers a critical look at the some of the current shortcomings in parallel computing, particularly as it relates to commodity computing.

CACM is the leading print and online publication for the computing and information technology fields, reaching more than 100,000 ACM members wanting in-depth coverage of emerging trends in computer science.
