Q. What is F&A?
A. F&A is Facilities & Administrative also known as indirect cost. Indirect Cost are defined by the federal government as “those costs incurred for a common or joint purpose benefitting more than one cost objective, and not readily assignable to the cost objectives specifically benefitted, without effort disproportionate to the results achieved.” 2 CFR 200.56 Detailed information on F&A can be found at: https://ora.umd.edu/resources/fa
Q. How do I get access to review effort reports?
A. Email your request to spac.cost@umd.edu. Please include Employee names, UID, name and number of Division, Department or Unit number to which they need access to.
Q. Will I receive an email notification if I have to complete a revised effort report?
A. Unfortunately, there is no feature in the system at this time. We hope to have a notification in the future.
Q. What is a Specialized Service Facility?
A. A specialized service facility is an organizational unit which provides a specific service or product, or a group of services or products, to users within UMD community. For specific questions contact spac.cost@umd.edu.
