The University of Maryland (UMD) has selected Paul Bardack as the State Director for the Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Paul comes to the university from SAIC where he served as Senior Education and Training Solutions Architect. He also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Development in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and has held senior level positions at various federal, state, and local economic and workforce development agencies.

"The SBDC is crucial for maintaining Maryland's economic vitality," said Bardack. "I am honored to work with this talented team to achieve an even greater statewide impact and I look forward to expanding the pool of stakeholders who care passionately about our success."

The SBDC is headquartered at UMD and is part of the Division of Research Office of Innovation and Economic Development.

"We are excited to welcome Paul, with his depth and breadth of experience in both the private and public sectors, as the new State Director for the SBDC," said Julie Lenzer, associate vice president of innovation and economic development and co-director of UM Ventures.
