A workshop on environmental health and safety regulations will be presented by Maureen Kotlas, Executive Director of the UMD Department of Environmental Safety, Sustainability & Risk and Mary Dorman, Assistant Director, ESSR. The workshop will provide an overview of some of the most common requirements that small businesses are subject to. This includes employee safety and health requirements from OSHA and MOSH, EPA and MDE requirements for regulated waste, requirements that apply to research laboratories, and laboratory fire safety compliance. Attendees will be provided with a list of resources that will be helpful in developing a health and safety program.
