Dr. Charles E. Owubah is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience helping to bring hope to many vulnerable communities around the world through humanitarian and development work. His upbringing, academic background, and in- depth expertise in program design, monitoring, and evaluation has afforded him a remarkable blend of experience to conceptualize and execute programs that assure accountability and sustainability.

Dr. Owubah is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Action Against Hunger-USA where he leads the executive team in providing leadership and strategic direction to more than 1,600 staff across seven countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, and Haiti. Prior to joining Action Against Hunger-USA, Dr. Owubah worked for World Vision—a global humanitarian and development organization with operations in over 90 countries—for almost 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility, including as Country Director for Zambia from 2007 to 2009, Regional Vice President for East Africa from 2009 to 2014 and Vice President and Partnership Leader from 2014 to 2018. Prior to joining World Vision, Dr. Owubah was an academic teaching at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Ghana. He holds a Ph.D. in Natural Resources Management and Policy from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
