The History of Intellectual Property, Part 1

Centuries ago the intellectual property laws developed to protect innovators and creators.  Before that, there were few if any protections.  So, how did these laws come into being? What drivers were responsible and what cultures led the way to transform the primitive laws then to the more sophisticated legal instruments we see today? From Romans to the Italian Renaissance to today, this presentation will explore the evolution of the intellectual property laws.  Part 1 will deal with the creation of the patent laws.

Presenter: Raymond Van Dyke, Van Dyke Intellectual Property Law
