TEDCO's Maryland Innovation Initiative (MII) was created as a partnership between the State of Maryland and five Maryland academic research institutions and offers up to $265,000 in funding to UMD researchers as translational and startup funding. Technology Validation Phase of the MII program provides $115,000 (NO University OVERHEAD!) that goes directly to the PI's lab for a technology validation project. Company Formation Phase of the program provides $150,000 in very hard to find early stage funding to a new startup launched to around the techology. Please join UMD's MII Site Miner to learn how this funding program works and what makes a winning application. MII funding provides an excellent opportunity for faculty and graduate students to launch a startup.

When: Monday, Dec. 13, 12:00-1:00 PM REGISTER

Presenter: Dan Nadash, Site Miner and Entrepreneur in Residence, UM Ventures
